Oklahoma can get HOT in the summer, but Chickasaw Country’s got you covered. Escape the heat by experiencing an action-packed day on the water with these can’t-miss summertime stops!

Boat at Lake Murray Water Sports

Put on your swimsuit and sunscreen for a fun day on the water at a colorful dock near Lake Murray Lodge, Lake Murray Water Sports and Mini Golf! This business is open seasonally (April 15– September 15), and is a great place to rent a boat during the summer. They offer a variety of boats, including paddleboats, kayaks, canoes, island cruisers, sailboats and fishing boats. The Big Kahuna, which seats up to 25 people on the boat, is perfect for a family reunion or retreat. This boat comes equipped with a slide, a shaded cover, a picnic table and a grill! Talk about a fun day on the water! We recommend calling Lake Murray Water Sports before your trip to make a reservation for your boats for the day.

Catch a fish at Lake Texoma

Bring your fishing pole and tackle box to Lake Texoma near Kingston this summer for a fun day of fishing. Lake Texoma is one of the best places in the southern United States to catch striped bass, and it’s also the second-largest lake in Oklahoma! Whether you’ve never fished before or you’re a seasoned vet, the Texoma T Striper Guide Service will teach you everything you need to know about fishing at Lake Texoma, pulling from over 30 years of experience at this legendary Oklahoma lake. Your trip can be a solo fishing experience, or you can have up to eight people on board fishing. Feel free to bring your kids along for their first fishing experience, which is practically a rite of passage in Oklahoma! Children under 10 can fish for $80 with a paid adult. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and water because your voyage could last up to six hours on the lake!
