Barks and Recreation:

Discovering the Best Pet-Friendly Experiences in Chickasaw Country

Man’s best friend. Four-legged friend. Loyal companion. Yes, your pet. In Chickasaw Country, our pets are as fun-loving and adventurous as our closest friends. So pack your pets and head to south-central Oklahoma for a getaway full of furry fun.

Eat

Doc’s Food Truck in Ada is a great place to eat with your furry friend. This food truck park is your backyard away from home with rotating trucks, covered dining areas, and games and activities for the entire family.

Rock Island Grill in Chickasha features a spacious patio deck lounge where you and your pets can relax, dine, and enjoy live music on Saturday nights.

Libby’s Café in Goldsby has some of the best food and drinks in the area and offers a patio dining area perfect for pets.

Kochendorfer Brewing Company in Duncan loves pets! The covered outdoor tables and chairs or the open-air picnic area are perfect for having a few brews with our four-legged friends.

Play

At the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, dogs are welcome to join their human friends on the park's trails. Check out the Veteran’s, Flower Park, and Inkana Trails, which are all pet-friendly. Just so you know, dogs must be on a leash while in the park.

Lake Murray State Park in Ardmore also welcomes pets on a leash. Whether visiting for the day, camping at one of the campgrounds or staying in a pet-friendly cabin, you and your pets will enjoy the serenity of Lake Murray, its clear, blue waters and the many trails and activities surrounding the lake.

Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge in Tishomingo is another location where you can take your pets on a leash to explore trails and see wildlife. Check out the Prairie Pathways, Sandy Creek, and Craven Nature Trails.

The Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center in Davis is the perfect stop to allow your pet to run free and relieve themselves. The Welcome Center features a fenced dog park.

Make the Paws Valley Dog Park in Pauls Valley a stop for your pets as well. A group of dog lovers runs this park, which includes a small and big dog area with water and waste stations and secure walk-in entrances. There are also shaded areas and park benches for humans.

Stay

River of Love Cabins in Thackerville welcomes pets in their Creekside Cottage. The cottage, covered in cedar, has two bedrooms and two baths accommodating up to four adults and two children. Amenities at the cottage include a hot tub, charcoal grill, covered deck, washer, dryer, dishwasher and fire pit.

Cabin on the Rocks is a 1970’s Swedish-style log cabin tucked away in the woods near the Lake of the Arbuckles in Sulphur. The cabin comes with lots of amenities and sleeps up to 11 guests, including your four-legged ones.

The rustic, cozy Cabin Fever Adventures in Kingston welcomes up to two pets per cabin. The cabins have a fully furnished kitchen, private full bathroom, TV, firepit, BBQ grill, bedroom and bathroom linens and a picnic table. The pet policy varies per cabin so make sure to check before booking.

Relax in style at the spacious West Bay Casino and Resort cabins in Kingston. These five-bedroom, five-bathroom cabins feature a fully equipped kitchen, shared living space and a covered patio to enjoy with your four-legged friends.

We hope you and your best friend enjoy your visit to Chickasaw Country! Share your travels with us by tagging your photos with #VisitChickasaw.
