Set up Camp

Camping is a great way to connect with nature, especially in a tent. From the chirping of birds and whistling of wind through the trees to the smells of pine and wildflowers, the sights, sounds and smells of nature are ready to be explored.

In Chickasaw Country, there are a multitude of locations where you can set up camp for the night, or a weekend.

Lake Texoma State Park

Kingston, Oklahoma

Lake Texoma State Park offers 160 tent camping sites in various locations in the state park. Most tent camping sites offer a nearby picnic table, charcoal grill and fire rings. Reservations need to be booked online ahead of time. 

Blue River

Tishomingo, Oklahoma

Blue River is a protected fishing and hunting area with three primitive tent camping locations near the southern end of Blue River PFHA. Primitive latrines are available onsite. Blue River is a beautiful wooded area with over six miles of wading streams and some of the best trout fishing.

Chickasaw National Recreation Area

Sulphur, Oklahoma

Chickasaw National Recreation Area offers a variety of camping options, including tent camping. With multiple campground areas to choose from, you can find a spot that is just what you need. Sites offer a variety of amenities. Some sites include electricity and some have a nearby restroom with shower. Some of the sites must have a reservation for booking. Please refer to the CNRA website to determine if reservations are necessary for your selected site.

Duncan Lake

Duncan, Oklahoma

Duncan Lake is one of four lakes in Duncan. The camping area includes 25 partial sites with nearby picnic area, grills and restrooms. Duncan Lake is the perfect place to relax and fish and swim. Fishing permits are required.

Need an Oklahoma fishing license, stop by the Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center in Davis or the Chickasaw Visitor Center in Sulphur to purchase one.
