Turner Falls Park
Thousands of people flock to Turner Falls Park each year! Located in Davis, Oklahoma, this city-owned park has received national publicity for its likeness to the Grand Canyon and Black Hills of South Dakota. Nestled within the Arbuckle Mountains, Turner Falls Park is the oldest park in Oklahoma complete with natural caves, hiking trails, a stone castle and a 77-foot waterfall creating natural swimming pools for the entire family.
What to Do
- Hike the Trails: Explore the nature trails that weave through the 1,500-acre park.
- Swim in the Falls: The iconic 77-fott waterfall cascades into natural pools perfect for swimming during the hot Oklahoma summers.
- Fish: Fishing is allowed from late November through early March, so bring your gear and hit the water! (Permits required).
- Explore the Caves and Castle: Discover the parks geological wonders, including natural caves, and take a tour of the historic stone castle, built in 1930.
- Watch Wildlife: The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, turkeys and numerous bird species.
- Picnics and Grilling: Pack a lunch and enjoy a meal outdoors. Several grills and picnic tables are available, or you can bring your own!
- Rent a Pavilion: Turner Falls Park is a great location for gatherings large or small. Rent a pavilion for your next birthday party, family reunion or special event.
Where to Stay
Looking to extend your stay in the “Heart of the Arbuckles”? Turner Falls Park offers a variety of accommodations to suit all types of visitors.
- Camping: Set up a tent under the stars, rent an RV site or book one of the screened shelters for a more sheltered camping experience.
- Cabins: For a more modern experience, book one of the parks eight cabins. Each cabin features two full-size beds, a full bathroom and amenities like a small fridge, coffeepot, microwave and stovetop. You will need to bring your own kitchen utensils, bathroom supplies and towels.
- Covered Wagons: For a unique experience, sleep like a pioneer in one of the parks covered wagons. Each wagon includes a king size bed, a twin bunk bed and a table. With heating, air conditioning and electricity you will be comfortable while still experiencing rustic charm. Outside, you will find a communal fire pit and private bathhouse. The covered wagons accommodate up to four people.
- Bunkhouses: For larger groups, try one of the park’s bunkhouses, which can fit up to eight people. The bunkhouses feature a large front porch, a bathhouse and heating/air conditioning. Be sure to bring your own bedding and linens.
