Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center Featured Artist: Micah Hart
Learn more about Chickasaw and other First American artists at the Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center in Davis, Oklahoma.
Micah Hart is a First American artist based in Oklahoma City. He began the craft of woodturning in December of 2024. His motivation to take up woodturning was spending his childhood watching his father, an experienced woodturner. Micah has spent his entire life surrounded by art. His mother is an accomplished painter and illustrator. From an early age, Micah knew he was meant to be involved in the arts as well. As an adult, he began a career in the film industry and currently works for the Chickasaw Nation multimedia department as a creative producer. As a First American with Chickasaw and Cheyenne heritage, Micah has deep ties to his culture, which inspires much of his work. His piece, "Grandfather", was awarded at the 2025 Southeastern Art Show and Market, and he was awarded Best in the 3D Division at the 2025 Artesian Arts Festival for his piece, "Dancer".
