2025 Chickasaw Nation Disc Golf Clinic

Saturday, March 15, 2025
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Boggy Depot Park

Boggy Depot Park will host the 2025 Chickasaw Nation Disc Golf Clinic 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., March 15.

Open to the public at no charge, the clinic will give participants an introduction to basic rules, types of discs, throwing styles and additional aspects of disc golf.

Open year-round, Boggy Depot Park is home to the Lost Loksi (turtle in the Chickasaw language) disc golf course. Completed in 2020, the 18-hole course traipses through a wooded landscape around a scenic lake located within the 35-acre park.

Lost Loksi contains concrete slab tees, varied elevations between holes and DISCatcher targets. The course is suited for both novice and professional players.

Limited spots are available for the clinic; please call or email to register.

For more information about the disc golf clinic or to register, contact William Yochum, Boggy Depot Manager, at (580) 889-5625 or [email protected].

About Boggy Depot Park

Boggy Depot State Park offers a unique and relaxing destination for recreationists and campers, and is open year-round in Atoka County. Scattered across the park are signs and information about the various events and reasons of importance for Boggy Depot throughout the early years of American history.

Boggy Depot Park is steeped in Chickasaw history, serving as one of the vital landmarks of Chickasaw and Choctaw people. Historically identified by the U.S. government as a supply station, Boggy Depot became a site where Chickasaws and Choctaws settled upon their arrival in Indian Territory.

Boggy Depot was home to many notable individuals in Chickasaw, Choctaw and Oklahoma history, including Chickasaw politician Charles David Carter, Choctaw Chief Allen Wright, and Cyrus Harris, the first elected governor of the Chickasaw Nation. In 1972, Boggy Depot Park was added to the National Register of Historic Places, later becoming an Oklahoma state park. The Chickasaw Nation began managing Boggy Depot Park Aug. 16, 2011.

Visitors and locals alike have joined in events such as history camps, outdoor community movies and “Spooky Tales” storytelling concerts – all hosted by the Chickasaw Nation at Boggy Depot.
