History

Founded by a Kentucky man in 1892, the town experienced considerable growth in 1927 when workers struck oil. Since then, the town has slowed down and is home to several historical sites, including the Sacred Heart Abbey, Chisholm Spring, and the Chisholm family home and cemetery.
