Tired of traditional dining? How about meals on wheels! Dive into the fun culinary world of food trucks. Unsure where to find one of these food wagons, we have you covered. Chickasaw Country boasts a vibrant food truck scene. Join us for a mouthwatering journey.

Stop 1 - Chickasha

Our journey begins in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the proud host of the Oklahoma Food Truck Championships. More than 30 food trucks from across the state gather in the Historic Downtown District to compete for a cash prize. Hosted at the end of September, this delectable food event has rows of trucks to fit whatever you are craving. Culinary selections include tacos, pizza, ice cream, BBQ and more!

Can’t make the championships? Fret not, Chickasha also offers various opportunities to get the perfect bite year-round. You can find trucks such as Austin’s Barbeque, The Express Food Trucks and the Twisted Chef located throughout town.

Stop 2 - Duncan

Next, we make our way to Duncan, Oklahoma. This charming town full of landmarks and history is home to a variety of museums and shopping opportunities. After a day of exploring, you’ll have worked up an appetite. Head over to Kochendorfer Brewing Company where you are sure to find your next delicious meal. Kochendorfer hosts several food trucks throughout the week. A few popular mentions include Lyn’s Lumpia, La Tapatía Taco Shop and the in-house KBC Mobile Kitchen. Enjoy your meal on the outdoor patio amid a game of Jenga or cornhole!

Stop 3 - Ardmore

All aboard! The next stop in our taste trek takes us to the Depot District in Ardmore, Oklahoma. A hub for delicious food trucks can be found at The 7 on Broadway. Here you will typically find the Trippy Java Coffee truck offering specialty coffees and teas that are sure to delight. For a wholesome and filling meal, try Rusty’s Smokin Pot for some Cajun cuisine. Or maybe you are trying to beat the heat, you will want to grab a sweet, shaved ice treat from Snow Balls Under the Rainbow. A quick trip around town and you will surely find a tempting truck to fit your palate.

Stop 4 - Tishomingo

Our food adventure is far from over. It is time to go to Tishomingo, Oklahoma, to partake in Food Truck Fridays. The food trucks can be found outside the Johnston County Museum of History and Chickasaw Bank Museum. The museum offers trucks three times a month from April through July. After learning about the interesting history surrounding the Chickasaw Bank you will be ready to indulge. Some of the hosted trucks include Rancheros, Hidden Aces BBQ, R Hibachi and Calamity Janes Frozen Treats.

If you cannot make Food Truck Fridays, fear not! Tishomingo is bustling with activities year-round, ensuring plenty of opportunities to participate in the food truck scene. Among the favorites in the area is J&J BBQ, offering smoked meats and homestyle sides.

Stop 5 - Sulphur

The fifth stop on our culinary cruise takes us to Sulphur, Oklahoma. You can find The Wandering Pig within the Sulphur and Davis areas. The Wandering Pig, a modern street food-influenced cuisine, is led by a former executive chef from the renowned Artesian Springs and his partner. Here, you can find classic meals such as Philly cheesesteak, pulled pork and crispy French fries or explore bolder flavors such as the luau burger or pork Bahn Mi.  Perhaps you are in the mood for seafood; not to worry, this dynamic duo has expanded food truck operations to include the 212 Boil House food truck offering crab and shrimp boils.

Stop 6 - Ada

As we journey to our final destination in Ada, Oklahoma, prepare yourself for an abundance of food trucks. Ada offers many options across charming spots like The Lot, Doc’s Food Truck Park and the Chokma’si Gallery.

The Lot, located in the Arts District on Main Street, hosts a variety of trucks every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout the fair-weather months. From the savory creations of P5 Burger Barn to the tropical vibes of the Tiki Bar and the tantalizing flavors of Nacho Biznez and Phooies BBQ, there is something to satisfy every craving. While dining, you can enjoy live music and a game of cornhole while sipping a handcrafted beverage.

Doc’s Food Truck Park is conveniently located off State Highway 1, just look for the green truck! The food truck park provides the ultimate outdoor hang for a foodie. A dynamic rotation of trucks provides a fresh experience every week from Wednesday through Sunday. Enjoy the fresh air and ambiance as you peruse selections such as Great Bowls on Fire, American Fusion Foods, The Lamb and The Wolf and Hounddogs Grill. This food truck hotspot enhances your experience by providing TVs and games for an all-encompassing good time!

Chokma’si Gallery is located at the Chickasaw Nation Division of Arts and Humanities in downtown Ada. This gallery showcases First American art, such as pottery, photography, paintings and more, alongside a retail space where patrons can find jewelry, prints and other gifts. During the summer, the gallery hosts a monthly Food Truck Friday, where you can enjoy a delicious lineup of food trucks, live music performances, and exciting giveaways.
