Newcastle Youth Fishing Derby

Join us bright and early for the 6th annual Newcastle Youth Fishing Derby at Veterans Park — where the worms are wiggly, the prizes are plentiful, and the memories are waiting to be made!
Registration for the 2026 Youth Fishing Derby will open online on May 1st, 2026. Day of event registration will open at 7 a.m. the morning of the derby. Fishing begins at 7:30 a.m. and will end at 11 a.m.
Awards will be given to the 1st & 2nd place Biggest Fish in these age groups:
- Ages 6 & under
- Ages 7–10
- Ages 11–15
Plus awards for Longest Fish Overall and Best Dressed Angler.
Bring your tackle box, your best outfit, and your early-morning energy — we’ll bring the fun (and maybe a few fish stories).
