Barbecue and Christmas Lights: Your new holiday tradition

Share with friends

The Chickasha Festival of Light is a top 10 Holiday tradition that ranks with heavyweights like watching TNT’s A Christmas Story marathon, eggnog and building a snowman. Granted, Chickasaw Country is located deep within the boundaries of the southern Great Plains so snowmen primarily reside in our childlike dreams; however, it’s fun to dream big on occasion.

There's another tradition in this region...delicious barbecue! Chickasha Festival of Light is only minutes away from the most amazing small-town barbecue joint.

This year we should all strive to incorporate more small-town businesses into our traditions. If said businesses happened to have fried green beans as an appetizer, everyone wins. You shouldn’t just take our word for it, friends.

Only 45 minutes from Oklahoma City, Jake’s Rib is the perfect place to host your next family outing.

Just remember, this stop goes hand-in-hand with the Christmas lights. It’s like peas and carrots, Blake and Gwen, Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies and Exit 51.

To recap, barbecue now goes with Christmas lights, and you’ll be going to Chickasha, Okla. soon.
