Monarch Butterfly Watch

Join the Chickasaw Cultural Center for a monarch butterfly watch.The Chickasaw Nation is dedicated to providing the correct habitat and nutritional needs for the beautiful creatures that are currently beginning migration to wintering grounds in Mexico. Free activities include hands-on outdoor classrooms, take home crafts for children, special films and nectar plant and seed giveaways. Experts will discuss the history and importance of milkweed and other native nectar plants essential to butterflies.

Butterfly Day will be held at the CCC from 10AM-4PM with activities below;

10AM-4PM – milkweed giveaway in an outside area east of Aatifama  (where we had our butterfly masks set up at last event)

10AM-4PM  -  make and takes in Plaza

10:30 Butterfly Garden tour   - meet at square bed in Plaza

11:45  Theater  a brief overview of the Monarch Habitat Project

12:00  Theater – film the Flight of the Butterflies (44 minutes)

12:45   Theater  -  Q & A session

1:30    Butterfly Garden tour   -  meet at square bed in Plaza

2:30  Theater a brief overview of the Monarch Habitat Project
